Sue Bierman Park - The Home for the Waterfront Playground
The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and the Board of Supervisors have both voted unanimously to endorse a privately-funded playground within Sue Bierman Park along the Embarcadero and have passed legislation to allow its construction.
And the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Commission's Capital Committee has approved our final location, playground design and Donor Recognition Program.
We are equally excited that Roma Design Group has taken over key elements of the design and planning for our Playground. Roma is one of the top urban and landscape architects in the Bay Area and created the Master Plan for Sue Bierman Park and supervised its recent refurbishing. We could not have a better design partner!

Background
The Waterfront Playground is the joint effort of two neighborhoods, the Barbary Coast Neighborhood and the Rincon Hill Neighborhood. Neither one of our neighborhoods has a single playground for our children.
Location
We have an excellent location in the Eastern block of Sue Bierman Park near the corner of Washington Street and The Embarcadero.
Friends of the Waterfront Playground LLC is a cooperative non-profit effort of the
BARBARY COAST NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION and the RINCON HILL NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION.
